Ethylene propylene diene polymethylene backbone (EPDM) is a synthetic rubber with very inert chemical properties that offers excellent weathering resistance and good all-round performance, except with fuels and oils. EPDM rubber grades have a wide variety of applications in the automotive, consumer and industrial sectors, used for applications such as: seals, glass-run channels, radiators, garden and appliance hose, tubing, belts, electrical insulation, solar panel heat collectors, etc.
Butyl rubber is a copolymer of isobutylene and a small amount of isoprene, providing for a highly saturated backbone. The primary properties of butyl rubber are excellent air-barrier performance, good flex fatigue and vibration damping. From inner tubes to curing bladders, butyl properties are valued across a solid range of rubber products.
