SPECIAL MASTERBATCHES

Masterbatch is a solid additive for plastic used for coloring plastics (color masterbatch) or imparting other properties to plastics (additive masterbatch). It’s a concentrated mixture of pigments and/or additives encapsulated during a heat process into a carrier resin, which is hereafter cooled and cut into a granular shape. Masterbatches allow the processor to color raw polymer economically during the plastic manufacturing process.

Color masterbatch

Bjørn Thorsen distributes a wide range of color Masterbatches from P W Hall. These are concentrated mixtures of pigments to which dispersants are added to ensure the optimal dispersion of these pigments in a carrier resin.

Additive masterbatch

We provide different additive masterbatch with the following attributes:

• contain UV stabilizer, making it suitable for outdoor applications

• can increase fluidity of polypropylene whilst at the same time, narrowing the molecular weight distribution
