In 2023, Celanese will introduce a new Santoprene® TPV 101-87 ECO-R grade with a minimum of 25% post-consumer recycle (PCR) content. The new Santoprene TPV 101-87 ECO-R supplements the Santoprene® TPV ECO-R portfolio as a complementary sustainable addition to Santoprene® TPV ECO-R 101-80 with a minimum of 15% PCR. Using Santoprene TPV 101-87 ECO-R customers can achieve carbon footprint reductions of up to 59% versus EPDM.

Santoprene TPV ECO-R portfolio

Santoprene TPV ECO-R grades show similar performance to other Santoprene TPV grades, in terms of aging performance or bonding strength. They also demonstrate very good processability with comparable results to already existing fossil-based grades, as illustrated by shrinkage and spiral flow tests.

A new Santoprene TPV presentation from Celanese delivers a comprehensive overview of the Santoprene TPV ECO-R grades, as well as the sustainability attributes and ECO-design possibilities with Santoprene TPV. You can access the presentation here.
