To meet these objectives requires new people, with recent newhires introduced below.
Business Sales Manager, Coatings
In the Sales organization, recently restructured around specific markets, Jonny Lönnerberg joined Bjørn Thorsen as Business Sales Manager, Coatings, on September 1, 2019. A Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, with an additional degree in Business Administration, Jonny comes to the group with more than 15 years demonstrated history of leading sales of coatings, adhesives & sealants as well anti-vibration systems. His experience in dealing with large international accounts in a variety of Construction & Automotive industries with complex requirements will be greatly beneficial to BTG’s and its principals’ ambitions for increased penetration in his assigned markets.
Sales Manager, Finland & Sweden
As of November 1, 2019, Kasper Jalander will reinforce the BTG commercial team as Sales Manager from his base in Finland, yet will bring extensive skills in the management of BTG accounts and prospects over the larger Nordics territory. Kasper graduated as Master of Science, specialized in polymer and paper Technologies, as well as Organic Chemistry. He is an experienced manager of over 20 years working in the coatings, adhesives & sealants, chemicals, plastics and composites industries. He spent the last 13 years in leadership positions for the Nordics affiliate of a large European distribution company based in Germany. His proven practices representing relevant products in international sales will also serve BTG well in meeting its broad expansion goals.
R&D Engineer
Last but not least, a significant addition to BTG’s technical support as well as application technology group was made with the hiring of Karine Chomet, who joined the newly created French affiliate Bjørn Thorsen SAS, in Lyon, France as R&D Engineer on September 1. With a Master in Science degree in Polymer Chemistry, Karine spent the last 6 years working in a similar capacity, including raw material approval responsibilities, at a French PVC nitrile compounding company. Karine will also use her strong capacity for methodical analysis as increased resource to ensure a strong the company’s product safety and regulatory foundation, as well as compliance to leading industrial norms and specifications.
