The Bjørn Thorsen A/S group (BTG) is expanding its activities in France through the creation of a new subsidiary, Bjørn Thorsen SAS, on September 1, 2019.

The new company will focus on providing technical expertise and operational support to BTG, especially to its manufacturing affiliates Customized Compound Solutions A/S (CCS) and Nordic Grafting Company A/S (NGC). This reinforced presence in France will allow BTG to support global material needs of their international accounts, pursue new opportunities and leverage the full potential of its affiliates.

“The new French subsidiary will strengthen our competitiveness while contributing to local growth” said Kevin Barthomeuf, General Manager of Bjørn Thorsen SAS. He added: “It also provides for employment opportunities and serves as innovation stimulus in the regional polymers industry.”

Utilizing outstanding talent from the area, the company starts its journey with a team of three: Kevin Barthomeuf – General Manager, Quentin Le Piouff – Market Development Manager and Karine Chomet – R&D Engineer, whom we are welcoming to the BTG organization as of this month.

Based in Lyon, the French subsidiary will be operating from the Axel’One Innovative Materials Platform site, dedicated to R&D projects for small specialty and start-up companies. This cooperation will increase BTG’s potential in the area of collaborative, state of the art solutions development in the thermoplastic elastomers and compatibilizers space. At the same time, the Bjørn Thorsen SAS team will generate added value through its expertise in reactive extrusion and specialty polymer compounds.

About the Bjørn Thorsen A/S group (BTG)

BTG commercializes special raw materials from leading chemical manufacturers (e.g. BYK, ExxonMobil, Lubrizol, Cabot, Sun Chemicals, Venator, DRT and others), to customers in industries such as Automotive, Coating, Construction, Industrial, Medical, etc. In recent years, BTG has increasingly acted as true solution provider, by leveraging its considerable technical and processing know-how, as well as flexible and efficient logistics services from warehouses in several European and other global locations. This broader capability is strongly reinforced by the development expertise of two manufacturing affiliates, Customized Compound Solutions A/S (CCS) and Nordic Grafting Company A/S (NGC) that complement our BTG offering with their proprietary range of tailored alloys, compounds & specialty formulations in response to individual needs, available globally. www.bjorn-thorsen.com
