Bjørn Thorsen’s affiliated company, Nordic Grafting Company A/S (NGC), launches a new grade approved for food contact applications in packaging and recycling industries.

NGC thereby enlarges its portfolio of Acti-Tech compatibilizer with Acti-Tech compatibilizer 16MA11F, which is compliant with EU food regulation 10/2011. This functional polymer can be added to both PE- or PP-based formulations and tailored to the process equipment due its optimized melt flow.

Acti-Tech compatibilizer

Acti-Tech compatibilizer is based on Vistamaxx™ performance polymer from ExxonMobil. They are compatible with other polyolefins, featuring a high grafted monomer content, low VOC content, an MFI adjusted for optimal dispersion, and high flexibility.

Acti-Tech compatibilizer is designed to enhance performance of a wide variety of polymer compounds and is particularly recommended for polyolefinic materials mixed with engineering plastics, such as PET or PA.

NGC will present the Acti-Tech compatibilizer range including the food contact approved grade at different fairs in 2021-2022. Further, Bjørn Thorsen will represent NGC at the upcoming Alihankinta fair on 21-23 September 2021 and Interplas fair in UK, on 28-30 September 2021.

About NGC

Nordic Grafting Company (NGC) was founded almost five years ago as a wholly-owned affiliate of the Bjørn Thorsen group (BTG). The company is utilizing ExxonMobil’s patented Vistamaxx performance polymers technologies, under global license granted to BTG, to develop and directly commercialize superior compatibilizers. Acti-Tech compatibilizer products are used as performance boosters for recyclates, coupling agents for wood plastic composites and natural fiber compounds, or flexible adhesion promoters on metal and polar substrates to enhance performance of elastomers.

NGC recently expanded in the Asia-Pacific area, via Nordic Grafting & Compound Solutions (NGCS), a production and commercialization joint venture, set up in late 2019 together with its sister company, Customized Compound Solutions (CCS) and Chongqing Techxanadu Industrial Co.td. (TechXanadu).
