We are proud to announce the expansion of our collaboration with Celanese – a leading global chemistry and specialty materials company. We have been granted access to new products and market territories by Celanese, an example being the distribution rights of Hytrel® TPC (thermoplastic polyester elastomer) in France, as well as in the Nordic and Baltic countries.

Enriched elastomers portfolio

The addition of Hytrel® TPC to our current selection of elastomers, like Santoprene® TPV from Celanese, Estane® TPU from Lubrizol or Opti-Pren™ TPV, Opti-Soft™ TPE and Opti-Flex™ TPO from Customized Compound Solutions further enhances our versatile portfolio. It enables our team of experts to provide optimal elastomer solutions for customers’ unique challenges. Mikko Långström, Sales Director of Advanced Polymers business unit states: “Offering a full spectrum of elastomers allows us to match customers’ challenges with the ideal material solution. Whether they require the flexibility of TPV, the durability of TPU, or the versatility and resilience of TPC, we’ve got it covered. Our goal is to help customers innovate on product design, reduce costs, enhance product performance and bring new applications to the market.”

“The collaboration between Bjørn Thorsen and Celanese has been marked by a commitment to serve our customers with quality and innovation. The latest product additions will enhance our ability to meet the evolving needs of our customers, especially when it comes to providing customized TPC solutions, like additivation, coloring, or enhanced bonding properties, allowing them access to a premium elastomeric solution.” says Kevin Barthomeuf, CTO of Customized Compound Solutions, part of Bjørn Thorsen Group.

For our customers, this collaboration also means gaining solutions with circularity in mind. Both Celanese and our company have a commitment to bring sustainable, recyclable and circular solutions to the market. “We are building up a new concept for strategic OEM engagement, focused on circularity and innovation. I am excited to bring Hytrel® TPC into our offering of materials that embody circular economy values.” adds Frederik Grønborg, Circularity & Innovation Manager of Bjørn Thorsen Group.

Expansion in Europe

Our Advanced Polymers team hopes to bring more elastomers into the product portfolio in the near future, to sustain our company’s defined expansion plans across Europe. As part of our actions for supporting the European strategy, we’ve started the interview process with leading candidates in the elastomers segment to spearhead our market entry in Germany and Central Europe. As expressed by Bjørn Thorsen’s Chairman, Claus Adser: ”We genuinely believe there are new and unexplored opportunities in Germany and Central Europe, which can be commercialized by our different approach to the market. Our extended engagement is essential for our growth ambitions and obviously of highest priority.”
